Madushan Edirisinghe

Mr. Madushan Edirisinghe is an accomplished and highly skilled finance professional with over 18 years of diverse experience in Sri Lanka’s financial services industry. With a proven track record in Insurance, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Investments, Fund Mobilization, Credit Operations, Branch Operations, Administration, and Investment Management, Madushan brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his current role as the Managing Director and CEO of Athugala Credit & Investments (Pvt) Ltd.

Madushan began his career in 2002 at Ceylinco Insurance Limited, where he served as a Sales Consultant. Armed with a Certificate of Competency from the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute (SLII), he quickly developed a solid understanding of the insurance sector and the principles of client relationship management. His career took a significant leap in 2004 when he joined HNB Finance PLC (formerly Ceylinco Grameen), where he worked until 2009 as a Senior Investment Executive at the Kurunegala Branch. During this time, Madushan was instrumental in building a strong investor base for the company, leveraging his expertise in investment management and client relations.

In 2009, Madushan moved to Citizen Development Finance PLC as a Credit Executive, where he played a key role in managing both credit operations and fund mobilization. His ability to balance these two critical functions helped the company enhance its service offerings and improve its financial position.

Madushan’s journey continued with a significant role at Commercial Credit & Finance PLC (CCL), where he joined as a Senior Executive in 2009. Over the next 12 years, Madushan’s expertise in Sales & Marketing and Deposit Mobilization helped CCL achieve remarkable growth, particularly in expanding its island-wide deposit base. He was promoted to Senior Manager, Investments & Administration, and in this capacity, he oversaw the company’s deposit mobilization efforts through its branch network and sales teams, including both personal and corporate client segments, such as high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and corporate funds.

Throughout his time at CCL, Madushan’s leadership and sales acumen proved invaluable. He was recognized with multiple awards for his contributions, including the Platinum Award for Excellence in Minor Savings (2011), the Deposit Promotion Award (2019), and the Silver Award (2010) for exceptional service. His strong work ethic, client-focused approach, and commitment to achieving the company’s goals made him one of the key pillars of Commercial Credit & Finance PLC's success. He also earned recognition for his leadership and contributions to team performance and was a key value driver for CCL, an organization known for its value-driven culture.

As the Managing Director and CEO of Athugala Credit & Investments (Pvt) Ltd, Madushan has continued to build on his extensive experience and industry knowledge. Under his guidance and supervision, Athugala Credit was also named Best Organization of the Year and Best Micro Finance Company of the Year at the same awards, underscoring the significant impact of his leadership on the company’s growth and reputation.
