Mr. Madushan Edirisinghe is an accomplished and results-driven finance professional with over 18 years of extensive experience in Sri Lanka’s financial services industry. Renowned for his visionary leadership and strategic insight, he has built a distinguished career spanning Insurance, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Investments, Fund Mobilization, Credit Operations, Branch Operations, Administration, and Investment Management. He currently serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Athugala Credit & Investments (Pvt) Ltd, where he continues to steer the organization toward sustained growth and excellence.
Mr. Edirisinghe commenced his career in 2002 at Ceylinco Insurance Limited as a Sales Consultant. Equipped with a Certificate of Competency from the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute (SLII), he quickly developed a strong foundation in insurance operations and client relationship management.
In 2004, he joined HNB Finance PLC (formerly Ceylinco Grameen), where he served as Senior Investment Executive at the Kurunegala Branch until 2009. During this period, he played a pivotal role in building a robust investor portfolio, strengthening the company’s investment base through effective relationship management and market insight.
In 2009, Mr. Edirisinghe moved to Citizen Development Finance PLC as a Credit Executive, contributing significantly to both credit operations and fund mobilization, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and financial stability.
Later in the same year, he joined Commercial Credit & Finance PLC, where he spent over 12 years in progressively senior roles. Rising to Senior Manager – Investments & Administration, he was instrumental in expanding the company’s island-wide deposit base, overseeing deposit mobilization across branch networks and sales teams, and managing both personal and corporate portfolios, including high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs).
His outstanding contributions earned him several accolades, including:
