Mrs. Nirosha Wanigaratne
Chief Financial Officer
Nirosha Wanigaratne brings over 20 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, both locally and overseas, to her role as Chief Financial Officer of Athugala Credit and Investments Limited. Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA), and gained her 1st Degree from University of Jayawardanepura in Bsc. Accountancy and Financial Management with honor pass. (1994 – 1998). Nirosha combines strong technical expertise in financial reporting, controls, and treasury management with a track record of driving
productivity improvements and leading organizational change. She is known for her solid leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build relationships across all levels of staff and management, including sound cross-cultural management gained through her international experience.
Career Highlights
Nirosha began her career as an Audit Trainee at Weerasinghe & Company (1996–1998), before joining KPMG, where she progressed to Audit Senior (2000–2001). She then spent time living and working in Japan (2001–2004), gaining valuable international and cross-cultural experience, before returning to KPMG as Audit Supervisor (2004–2005).
She subsequently joined Commercial Credit & Finance PLC, where she progressed through a series of senior finance roles – Finance Manager, Senior Finance Manager, and ultimately Finance Controller – between 2005 and 2008, building a strong foundation in corporate finance leadership within a listed company environment.
Nirosha then moved to Vincotte International (UAE) as Senior Accountant (2008–2010), before returning to Sri Lanka to take on the role of Finance Manager at Trinity College, Kandy, a position she held for over a decade (2010–2021).
She went on to serve as Head of Finance at Cee Line Apparel (Pvt) Ltd (2022–2023), and most recently as Finance Controller at Mahaweli Reach Hotels PLC (2023–2026 ), where she partnered with senior management and the Board of Directors on strategic financial decision-making, led financial planning and treasury operations, and ensured full regulatory and Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) compliance in a listed company environment.
Nirosha now brings this extensive depth of financial leadership, governance, and cross-functional management experience to her role as Chief Financial Officer of Athugala Credit and Investments Limited.
