Ajantha Bandara – Chairman

Mr. Ajantha Bandara serves as the Chairman of Athugala Credit & Investments (Pvt) Ltd, bringing with him a wealth of experience in legal practice, corporate governance, and financial services. His appointment marks a significant step in strengthening the company’s strategic leadership and commitment to excellence.

With a distinguished career in law, Mr. Bandara is an accomplished Attorney-at-Law with extensive expertise in contract law, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. His profound understanding of both legal and financial frameworks enables him to provide invaluable guidance in shaping the company’s policies, ensuring that all operations are conducted in strict adherence to applicable laws and regulatory standards.

Prior to assuming the role of Chairman, Mr. Bandara served as a Senior Director of the company, where he was responsible for overseeing legal and compliance functions. His leadership played a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization’s interests, minimizing legal risks, and strengthening governance practices.

Mr. Bandara also chairs the Credit Committee, where he has been instrumental in guiding the company’s credit strategy and promoting responsible lending practices. His deep knowledge of banking and finance law supports effective credit risk evaluation and ensures that all lending decisions align with the company’s long-term financial objectives.

Mr. Bandara holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Colombo (1999) and qualified as an Attorney-at-Law from the Sri Lanka Law College in 2000 with First Class honors. He is also a Commissioner of Oaths and a Registered Company Secretary.
